François-Édouard Picot (French, 1786-1868) painted mythological, religious and historical subjects. He studied with François-André Vincent and Jacques-Louis David and won the Prix de Rome painting scholarship in 1813. His students include William-Adolphe Bouguereau and Alexandre Cabanel.
