George Brant Bridgman (Canadian-Amer.,1865-1943) was a painter, writer, and instructor. He taught anatomy and figure drawing at the Art Students League of New York for 45 years, reportedly to 70,000 students.
He studied with Jean-Léon Gérôme. His student Norman Rockwell said Bridgman was one of the biggest influences in his education. Bridgman’s other students include: Robert Beverly Hale, Andrew Loomis, and Mahonri Young.
Bridgman’s anatomy books have been in print for over 100 years and are still available.
